The Royal Challengers Bangalore has decided to go with Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Mohammed Siraj. Kohli and Maxwell were to be retained as stagers of this format. AB de Villiers’ retirement made RCB’s selection headaches a little simpler since he’d have been on the retention list. On the other hand, other retained players were the center of attention.

One of the strongest team on the paper, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) made some good buys at the IPL 2022 mega auction. Ahead of the 15th season, the franchise has invested heavily in overseas and domestic talents alongside some stager players. Ahead of the mega auction, the red army released some of their key perfomers including promising batter Devdutt Padikkal and wrist- spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.
However, inclusion of some exciting players including Australian leader Josh Hazlewood, veteran South African batter Faf du Plesis, Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga and West Indies sensation Sherfane Rutherford will further strengthen their team. .After being an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for once several years, Faf du Plesis was bought by RCB at a cost of INR seven crore. The former South African captain is likely to lead the franchise in the upcoming 15th edition of the match as well. With his former teammate AB de Villiers hanging his shoes, it would be upto Du Plesis along with Kohli and Maxwell to make the match successful for their franchise.
Meanwhile, the red army will play their first match against Punjab Kings at DY Patil Stadium Mumbai on March 27 and will look to settle their squad composition as early as possible before heading towards the business end of the match.
